New Collection Kartell Kids
Playful in look and spirits, the new projects for kids presented at the latest Design week in Milan were an immediate hit. That is because the foray of some brands into the childrens Word- representing the needs and lifestyles of modern families- were amazing not only for the kreativity and functionality of the lines, but also because they presented decidedly new concepts. Kids project developer the idea that design can be used to educate children about beauty and a passion for life.
The playful, dreamy Kartell kids line starts out form the idea that childrens furniture must be fun and exciting. The first were designed by Nendo, Laviani, Lissoni and Starck.

Discovolante
Race car named Discovolante by Piero Lissoni are made from sheets of tinted plastic, which are shaped into seats and chassis. Designed by Lissoni, the small four-wheeled rideable vehicles come in a range of colour combinations. Highly sophisticated and attentive to the minimum detail. Discovolante as their humorous names indicate also communicate the irony and the playfulness of their designer’s personality.
H-Horse
The steel “H-beams” used in large structures such as skyscrapers and bridges are very strong and highly efficient. In cross-section they are shaped literally like an “H” and it is this characteristic that gives the structure its mechanical strength. By applying this concept directly to a child’s rocking horse, a form has been created that displays both function and strength, even with minimum use of materials. Transforming the use of this practical component into a different use with a sense of playfulness is the design process traceable to the history of the Kartell company.
FL/Y KIDS
Kartell now starts the first pieces dedicated exclusively to children. Some iconic products such as lamp FL / Y, Lou Lou Ghost chair and table TipTop got a new look, thanks paste with children's themes.
